Collection Drives are the heart and “sole” of The Drawer: Without drives there no socks and no underwear. Without socks and underwear, The Drawer can’t fulfill its mission. But we need your help in making sure these events happen. Simply put, Collection Drives are a way to gather product donations from the community. Drives never look the same, and can be customized to fit your needs. Some examples of past drives include:
A local chiropractor keeps a bin in the office waiting room and encourages patients to bring in donations of new socks and underwear.
A youth hockey association collects socks and underwear from families. The kids also bag groceries at a local market to earn money for additional product.
Rather than buying gifts for each other, an extended family brings pairs of socks and underwear to their family holiday celebration.
Each January, a Lutheran church holds an “Undie Sunday.” Members bring their donations of new socks and underwear. The theme of worship is serving others.
